Okamura was founded in Okamura-cho, Isogo-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan on October 10, 1945
1948
Okamura was reorganized into a joint-stock company and began to produce auto parts and develop torque converters
1950
Began to produce torque converters
1953
Developed Japan's first domestically produced aircraft (N-52) after the war
1955
Developed Japan's first automatic front-wheel drive car (Mikasa)
1956
● Developed aluminum casting technology for torque converters ● Developed gearboxes for forklifts and construction machinery
